Sweater in Variegated Yarn

Here’s the final result of the sweater knitting project I’ve been telling you about in recent posts.

Breakwater sweater
Breakwater sweater by Cecily Glowik MacDonald, with modifications.

You can see it’s got the same outlines as Cecily’s original Breakwater pattern, but I’ve completely changed the texture of the material, and the sleeves are shorter what with only two skeins of yarn to work with.

I’m happy with it. There’s a little pooling going on in the midriff, and some striping worms its way into the bottom 3-5″ of the sweater. I may frog and do something about that. Or maybe I’ll just remember to keep moving when I’m wearing it so that nobody notices.

Here’s the original skein of yarn again, for those who want the whole Before & After experience:

I didn’t notice any of the pooling or striping when I saw it in person at summer knitting last week! What a cute, wearable sweater. 🙂

Thanks! It is turning out to be an incredibly wearable sweater. It’s becoming my “go to” top for this summer. The tiny gaps in the seed stitch add to breathability, and Sock yarn isn’t at all scratchy.
