Ten on Tuesday: 5 Favorite Patterns, 5 Favorite Yarns

The Ten on Tuesday topic from Carole’s blog is 5 Favorite Sweater Patterns and 5 Favorite Yarns to Use.

Here’s my list:

5 Favorite Patterns

  1. Nitza Coto’s Jardin Ruffled Cardi . This sweater was just plain fun.Jardin Ruffled Cardi
  2. Veronik Avery’s Weekend Pullover. Stylish, cozy. I want one!
  3. Cecily Glowik MacDonald’s Breakwater. Simple, elegant, easy to tweak. Here’s my version.Breakwater sweater
  4. Mercedes Tarasovich-Clark’s Thandie Funnel Neck. 2- color brioche. I’m really intrigued!
  5. Connie Chang Chinchio’s Henley Perfected. Another nice balance of interesting lace and mindless stockinette. Seems to be my knitting formula this year.

 5 Favorite Yarns

Picking favorite yarns is a bit more difficult. I tend to knit with my own hand dyed yarns and so don’t get out much, in a yarn variety sort of a way. Here are favorites and some I’d like to try:

  1. Malabrigo Sock. Nice for just about anything
  2. Madeline Tosh. Yep, definitely need to get out more
  3. Sunday Knits. Patterns worked in this yarn keep catching my eye.
  4. Blue Moon Fiber Arts. Wonderful colors.
  5. Intrepid Tulips DK. It may be my own, but I love the feel and drape of this base yarn.ITY on Ravelry

Fun idea, but it’s pretty hard to limit it to five. Here’s my current list.

Patterns: Walpole by Kate Davies, Larch Cardigan by Amy Christoffers, June’s Favorite Cardigan by Hannah Fettig, Runa by Gudrun Johnston, and Tea with Jam & Bread by Heidi Kirrmaier.

Yarns: Intrepid Tulips dk (& Bamboo Frost & Sock), Tale and Tendril Cypress, Thirteen Mile Worsted, SpaceCadet Lyra, and Berroco Vintage.

Thanks Cayenne! It is hard to stop at five. Fortunately my Ravelry queue knows no limits.
