Clapotis

Dawn Clapotis

I was listening to a podcast by Helen Stewart (Curious Handmade) and she was doing an interview with Amy Singer of knitty.com.  Amy mentioned Clapotis as one of their most popular patterns and I realized I had never knit it.  I do not generally jump on a design band wagon, but when a pattern is really popular it is generally safe to assume it is a good design.  I was looking for a great pattern to knit up my new skein of Wool/Silk DK in the “Dawn” colorway and I thought it might be time to knit myself a Clapotis.  Since I only had one skein, I decided to knit a scarf size by increasing to 47 stitches and knitting until I was almost out of yarn.  It came out about 52″ long, which is a lovely scarf length.
